A Room with a view
And there is silence. Silence and the ocean. No guests. No tourists. No camera clicks. No shite. Silence reigns. Silence is all there is. Silence and the ocean. The ocean. This immense rectangle of dark blue between brown sand and light-blue sky. This feels good. This feels bad. Mornings are usually easier.

Fourth day in Kep, Cambodia. A name like so many others I had never heard of before coming here. I guess I could stay more. I guess I should leave. The 28 steps from my room to the ocean make me linger. I counted each one of them. Every day. More than once. Just to be absolutely sure.
As I sit down on a chair facing the ocean, I know I have the Gulf of Thailand in front of me. After the Gulf of Thailand, the Indian Ocean. After the Indian Ocean? Something entirely different, I reckon. It is so quiet here. Nothing else but silence. Silence and the ocean.
