Death, magic and farewells
I missed Death for 24 hours... The horrible accident that happened in Halong Bay, bringing to an end the lives of 12 people, 10 of them tourists, happened just one day before I booked the very same trip with the very same agent. The news probably didn't hit the Western newspapers like it did here — dreadful is to imagine that it could have happened to people I met along the way — and except for the nationalities, they didn't reveal any more information about the afflicted, leaving me sort of distressed...

I have been quite quiet over the last few days... The truth is, a lot has happened, most for good, and so far I seem to be incapable of bringing it all together in hectic Hanoi — I do have some notes in my notebook with some weird and funny episodes that I shall share with you... but, as said, that will have to wait.
Being my last day in Hanoi, I only have a couple of hours to say farewell Vietnam and Indochina. It has been indeed a wonderful and most rewarding time, which I guess will need a few months to be assimilated. Tomorrow morning I fly to Kuala Lumpur, and I'm already looking forward to some delicious vegetable curries at the city's Little India district.
I still have 3 months of travelling ahead of me... and although I am occasionally assaulted with the idea of Berlin Calling, I am starting to fear it will all end up too fast... But I can't deny there are moments I wished I was in some other place, most especially when my dear friends Jeronimo and Joana Birds are Indie give their first big gig in Coimbra — I couldn't avoid mentioning it.
More news soon... promised! Thank you all for the support and regular visits, you are basically the reason why I keep on writing all this shit.
